PETER B. TIEMANN, ATTORNEY AT LAW

Peter B. Tiemann is a certified criminal law specialist, by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and is a member of the California Public Defenders Association, National College for DUI Defense, and the California DUI Defenders Association. Mr. Tiemann is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College. Mr. Tiemann is accepted to practice in all federal and state courts in California. Mr. Tiemann defends those individuals accused of serious felonies and misdemeanors. Mr. Tiemann also litigates civil rights violations

Mr. Tiemann completed his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of California, Davis, and studied international business at Humboldt University, Germany. He completed his law degree at the University of San Diego, School of Law. While completing his law degree, Mr. Tiemann studied business law at the London School of Economics, England and environmental law at Duke University, Indiana.

ROLAND X. TIEMANN, ATTORNEY AT LAW

Roland X. Tiemann is a member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, National College for DUI Defense, and the California DUI Defenders Association. Mr. Tiemann is accepted to practice in all state courts in California. Mr. Tiemann is an expert in forensic analysis with an emphasis on defending driver’s accused of Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs. Mr. Tiemann is certified in field sobriety tests, drug recognition examinations, laboratory standards and blood testing and as a breath test operator for all the breath testing devices used in California including the Draeger 7410, 7110, Intoxilyzer 5000, and the Alcosensor IV.

Mr. Tiemann graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sacramento State University, California with a pre-med degree in the Biological Sciences. Mr. Tiemann has extensive training in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, and genetics. Mr. Tiemann completed his law degree at Lincoln Law School, Sacramento.

JELENA TIEMANN, ATTORNEY AT LAW

Ms Tiemann graduated from California State University Sacramento in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. While attending Lincoln Law School in Sacramento she worked for the Sacramento Public Defender’s Office handling both adult and juvenile cases. After passing the California bar exam Ms Tiemann practiced bankruptcy law in Sacramento appearing both in local and federal courts. As a bankruptcy attorney, she have filed hundreds of chapter 7 cases. Some of the chapter 7 cases she has handled involved large businesses, multiple real estate and complicated back property and income taxes. She has personally appeared at hundreds of creditor's meetings with her clients and successfully completed all of her client's bankruptcies.

As a Deputy District Attorney, Ms Tiemann handled a heavy case load of misdemeanor, felony and juvenile cases. She tried numerous cases in front of both juries and judges with a very high conviction rate. Some of the cases that she has tried include DUIs, traffic violations, domestic violence, thefts, assaults and batteries, drug crimes and many other serious felonies. Now, she is committed to use her knowledge and experience to represent you and protect your legal rights.

JOHN WADDELL, PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

John Waddell owns Chinatown Investigations which specializes in criminal defense and DUI investigations. Mr. Waddell has eighteen years experience in law enforcement, seventeen years as a criminal justice instructor, and ten years as a local criminal defense private investigator. He investigates cases in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Amador, and Yolo Counties. Mr. Waddell is an experienced DUI and crime scene investigator. He is a trained and qualified traffic accident and crime scene investigator and he is is qualified to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, blood draws, and breath tests. Mr. Waddell has 18 years of law enforcements experience including 10 with the Los Angeles Police Department Traffic Division. He has made over 1000 DUI and 2000 criminal arrests and he has the knowledge and experience to critically analyze the crime scene, the officers procedures, and the final arrest decision for any errors in procedure and training. Now he works for the defense analyzing, consulting and and documenting the crime scene for use at trial.

KENNETH A. MARK, FORENSIC TOXICOLOGIST

Ken Mark owns Bay Area Forensic Lab which is a licensed Forensic Alcohol Laboratory. Mr. Mark is the former supervising toxicologist for the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department Forensic Laboratory with over 30 years of experience in clinical and forensic toxicology. He has testified in over 1700 cases on the analytical procedures used to determine alcohol and/or drug levels in biological samples and their effects on the human body. He has testified regarding the interpretation of blood alcohol levels, driving observations, field sobriety test performances, and other aspects of alcohol ingestion. He also testifies regarding interpretation of urine and blood drug levels, signs and symptoms of drug intoxication and their effect on driving ability. He has trained over 1500 police officers in the operation of the Intoxilyzer 5000 and he is a qualified expert on the Intoxilyzer, Alcosensor and Draeger breath testing instruments.

DRUG DETECTION LABORATORY, ALCOHOL/DRUG ANALYSIS

DDL was founded in 1984 by Jeffery and Susan Zehnder, Forensic Toxicologists who now have over 45 years of combined experience in the Forensic Toxicology field. DDL is licensed by the California Department of Health Services as a Forensic Alcohol Laboratory (DHS#980022) for the analysis of alcohol in blood, breath, and urine samples; and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) (#PLO24729) to handle and test controlled substances.

Jeffery Zehnder, Director, has been qualified in numerous courts in Northern California and Nevada (over 2000 times total in more than 30 years) as an expert in the areas of alcohol testing, alcohol metabolism, drug testing, and the effects of alcohol and drugs. Susan Zehnder, Co-Director, likewise has qualified in courts though out California in the area of Drug testing and the effects of Drugs.

Staff toxicologist Edwin Smith has worked in the field of forensic chemistry for more than 17 years, spending time both in the public and private sector. Ed has performed thousands of forensic analyses, including analysis of blood, urine, tissues, and solid dose samples, and has analyzed evidence from many clandestine laboratories. Ed has testified more 150 times in various courts in California, is a board certified Criminalist, is a Forensic Alcohol Supervisor (California Department of Health Services), and is qualified to perform standardized field sobriety tests (SFTS's). Ed has a certificate in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida, and is currently a graduate student in forensic toxicology.
